Fight the Flu

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends flu shots for everyone 6 months or older, but says vaccination is especially important for people older than 50, pregnant women and anyone living in a nursing home or other long-term-care facility.

Getting your shot is easier and less confusing than last year when there were two shots to worry about. This year's seasonal flu shots include protection against H1N1. Suffolk County's Department of Health Services offers documents to help you find a Suffolk-sponsored site to get a flu shot:

You can also find scores of flu shot locations run by major retailers or drug chains by using the American Lung Association's Flu Vaccine Finder.
